NEW SERMON: The Faith of Our Fathers
This past Sunday, I had the privilege of preaching a Father’s Day message at one of our South Carolina churches. I titled the message, “The Faith of Our Fathers” (focusing on Hebrews 11-12).
While this message was initially prepared for Father’s Day, I believe the truth within is applicable for every believer, in every season of life.
The message considers the faith we have received, the responsibility we have to live it faithfully, and the sacred calling to pass it on to those who follow.
Hebrews reminds us that we are surrounded by the witness of those who have gone before us. Now, we are called to run our race with perseverance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.
The message is built on three challenges (taken directly from the text). These include:
- Remember the faith behind you.
- Run the race before you.
- Reach the generation beyond you.
My prayer is that those we pastor, lead, and care for will handle the inheritance of their faith well. That they will receive it with gratitude, live it with conviction, and ultimately pass it on with purpose.
I invite you to read the full message here: THE FAITH OF OUR FATHERS
While you are here, I also encourage you to look around the site and check out the other SERMONS, articles, and ministry RESOURCES available throughout.
Blessings,
Chuck
