God not only creates life; He gives it direction. Long before you took your first breath, He was at work, shaping and forming you with His purposes in mind. In Psalm 139:13<\/strong>, the psalmist declares, <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI knit you together in my mother\u2019s womb.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Psalm 139:13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With these words, we are reminded that our lives (our gifts, interests, and even the unique bents of our personalities), carry the divine fingerprints of our Creator. His point is clear\u2014you are neither an accident nor an afterthought Your life was intentionally planned and crafted for His glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the core, every Christ-follower shares a calling and a purpose to fulfill. In short, it’s to live a life that honors God, to use the gifts and opportunities we have to reflect His love, and to share the hope we have in Jesus with a world in need. This calling should shape how we approach our daily work, how we care for our families, how we speak to our children, how we encourage our neighbors, and how we steward the resources and moments God has entrusted to us. In every season and in every place, we are called to serve Him and to make Him known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet for some, God places a deeper burden upon the heart\u2014a holy summons to proclaim His Word, shepherd His people, and advance the mission of the gospel as a primary life pursuit. We often call this a \u201ccall to ministry,\u201d but it is perhaps better described as a call to serve God\u2019s people with your life<\/strong>. This is not defined by a paycheck, a job title, or the size of a platform, but by a surrendered heart that says, \u201cLord, here I am. Use me.\u201d<\/em> Calling is not determined by position; it is bigger, broader, and far more special than those limited measures, rooted in your identity as God\u2019s servant and your willingness to walk in His purposes wherever He leads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The apostle Paul described his calling this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBut when God, who set me apart from my mother\u2019s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles\u2026\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Galatians 1:15\u201316<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Even before Paul\u2019s education under Gamaliel or his zealous persecution of the church, God had set him apart. Every chapter of Paul\u2019s story, even the broken ones, became part of God\u2019s preparation for what was to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is the same for you. Your story, your journey, your shaping\u2014all of it matters in God\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We often make plans about where we will serve or what we will do next, but as Proverbs 16:9<\/strong> reminds us, <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Proverbs 16:9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n His calling on your life does not change, but the assignments along the way may shift <\/strong>as He leads you where you can be most effective for His purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early in my ministry, my greatest influence was with students and young people. Over time, God shifted my influence toward adults, families, and leaders. Today, I find myself entrusted with the assignment of serving and leading pastors and ministry leaders. Through each of these seasons, the calling to serve Him with my life has not changed<\/strong>, but the steps along the journey have been ordered by Him\u2014often in ways I could not have planned or predicted. It has reminded me that calling is not defined by a title or position. It is the holy privilege of allowing God to use your life for His purposes wherever He leads you, in whatever assignment He places in your hands.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Whatever season of ministry you find yourself in, and whatever assignment God has placed in your hands right now, remember this, pastor and leader: you matter. Your faithfulness matters. Your \u201cyes\u201d matters.<\/strong> God sees your willingness to serve, your steady faithfulness in small and unseen places, your late nights and early mornings, your quiet acts of obedience, and your courage to keep following Him even when the path ahead feels uncertain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You have already responded to the call to proclaim God\u2019s Word and shepherd His people. Let me remind you: carry that calling with holy awe.<\/strong> It is no small thing that the God of the universe has entrusted you with His message and with the care of His people. Let that reality move you to gratitude and reverence each day you have the privilege to lead, preach, disciple, and care for those He has placed under your ministry. Your calling is sacred. Your assignment is significant. And your faithfulness in this season is making an eternal difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where is God inviting you to say \u201cyes\u201d again in this season of your calling?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Pause and consider the uniqueness of your journey. God has been with you and for you in every step, every shift, every assignment. Take a moment to thank Him for His faithfulness and to recognize the privilege of serving His people. Ask Him to show you where He is calling you to trust Him anew and to step forward with fresh obedience and courage today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Father, thank You for calling me to Yourself and entrusting me with the privilege of serving Your people. Help me to carry this calling with reverence and joy, remembering that it is not defined by a title but by my willingness to say \u201cyes\u201d each day. Order my steps according to Your purposes, and give me courage to follow wherever You lead. May my faithfulness today bring glory to Your name and encouragement to those I serve.
