{"id":1231,"date":"2025-02-17T20:43:42","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T20:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chuckhilltoday.com\/?page_id=1231"},"modified":"2025-04-07T19:45:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T19:45:04","slug":"practice-vision-lesson-7","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/chuckhilltoday.com\/index.php\/practice-vision-lesson-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Practice Vision &#8211; Lesson #7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-larger-font-size\"><strong>Practice Vision <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chuck Hill, D.Min.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/chuckhilltoday.com\">chuckhilltoday.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-larger-font-size\"><strong>Look Up and Look Forward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Great leaders don\u2019t just see what is\u2014they see what could be.\u00a0Visionary leadership requires both perspective and faith.It is the ability to recognize the opportunities God is preparing, even when circumstances seem uncertain.\u00a0Jesus said in <strong>John 4:35:<\/strong><br><em>&#8220;Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leadership that makes an impact\u00a0looks beyond present challenges to future possibilities.\u00a0Visionary leaders don\u2019t allow obstacles or limitations to define their outlook; instead, they recognize the\u00a0potential, purpose, and promises of God.They see with spiritual eyes, recognizing that God is already at work in ways they may not yet fully understand.\u00a0Leaders who look up and look forward inspire others to move beyond limitations and into God\u2019s greater purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andy Stanley once stated,\u00a0<em>\u201cVision is a clear mental picture of what could be, fueled by the conviction that it should be.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Leaders who cultivate vision don\u2019t just react to the present;\u00a0<strong>they shape the future by stepping out in faith.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Strength Through Vision<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Abraham demonstrated this kind of vision. When God called hi<strong>m, He told him to\u00a0\u201cLook up at the sky and count the stars\u201d\u00a0(Genesis 15:5). Though Abraham had no children at the time,\u00a0God gave him a vision of something far greater than what was presently visible.\u00a0Faith-filled vision allows leaders to\u00a0trust in what God is doing, even when they don\u2019t yet see the full picture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul echoed this perspective in&nbsp;<strong>Philippians 3:13-14:<\/strong><br><em>&#8220;Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective leaders <strong>don\u2019t\u00a0dwell on past failures or settle for present success\u2014they keep pressing forward\u00a0with God\u2019s purpose in mind.\u00a0They understand that\u00a0vision is not just about what they desire, but about aligning their perspective with what God has already prepared.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Practical Ways to Cultivate Vision<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Seek God\u2019s Perspective<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Pray for eyes to see what He is doing beyond what is visible (<strong>Jeremiah 33:3<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Look Beyond Obstacles<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 See challenges as stepping stones rather than roadblocks (<strong>Romans 8:28<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inspire Others with Hope<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Help those you lead see God\u2019s bigger plan, even when the way forward isn\u2019t clear (<strong>Habakkuk 2:2-3<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stay Future-Focused<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Avoid getting stuck in the past; keep pressing toward what God has ahead (<strong>Isaiah 43:19<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Trust God\u2019s Timing<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Vision takes patience, but God\u2019s plan will come to pass in His perfect timing (<strong>Galatians 6:9<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Visionary leadership requires faith, foresight, and focus.\u00a0When we lift our eyes beyond the present and look forward with expectation, we\u00a0align ourselves with God\u2019s purpose and inspire others to do the same.\u00a0A leader\u2019s ability to see ahead often determines their capacity to lead well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So today,\u00a0look up. Look forward.
