CREATED FOR HIS GLORY

CREATED FOR HIS GLORY

There is something powerful and grounding about the opening words of Scripture:

Before there was light, land, sea, sky, sun, moon, stars, or even humanity, there was God. Scripture’s clear, He wasn’t created. He wasn’t formed. He wasn’t dependent on anything outside Himself. He simply WAS!

And that’s the point, really. The book of Genesis doesn’t begin by arguing for God’s existence. It begins by declaring God’s authority. His divine and supreme authority.

That truth matters deeply for our lives. Because, if God is the Creator of all things, then our lives are not accidental. This world is not random. And, humanity is not meaningless. To the contrary, we were created by God, are sustained by His power, and made for His glory.

Genesis 1 reminds us that God brings order out of chaos. He speaks light into darkness. He gives structure, rhythm, purpose, and beauty to that which was once formless and void. And here’s the thing…the same God who ordered creation is also able to bring order in the midst of our chaos. He is able to bring meaning to our moments, and purpose to our lives.

I know, there are seasons when our lives can feel cumbersome, uncertain, difficult, and even dark. But our chaos isn’t too much for God to handle. The darkness of our lives doesn’t intimidate Him. The emptiness we may feel inside doesn’t limit His ability to fill it. He can speak to those things just as effectively as He spoke to the darkness and chaos of creation.

And when God speaks, things happen.

A Moment of Reflection

So here’s my suggestion for you today. Take a moment to slow down and ask yourself:

  • What part of my life feels out of control?
  • Where do I need some life of hope to shine into the dark places of my heart and mind?
  • What part of my life needs to be brought back under God’s order? Is it my priorities, my words, my relationships, my schedule, my attitude, or my worship?

Reflect on these questions and then invite the Lord to speak into those areas of your life. Welcome His creative power to realign your life with His grand design. And then trust Him to give you the courage to live each moment for His glory!
