BUILDING THE LIBRARY
Leadership is an art, and like any art form, it requires continuous learning and growth. It’s been said that leadership is not a destination as much as it is a journey. And the best leaders are those who are committed to continually walking the path of learning. One of the best ways to accomplish this is through reading and studying. In the words of the famous Dr. Seuss, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” That could not have been stated better. These practices of reading, studying, and learning keep one’s mind active and curious. They allow for constant growth and continued relevance within one’s life. And, one of the most powerful tools a leader may possess is that of his or her books.
For these reasons (and more), much of my life and resources have been given to the acquisition of many books. I am deeply committed to reading — and to the continual development of my personal library. I challenge you to be equally as committed. Pick up a book, dive into a new study, take time to read — and watch your leadership skills sharpen, your knowledge deepen, and your personal influence increase.
Where should you begin? Well, here are a few suggestions . . .
Please note, this page will remain a “work in progress”. So, continue to check back in the future.
